INGILIZCE PRONOUNS / POSSESIVE ADJECTIVES – ZAMIRLER / ÇOĞUL AIDIYET SIFATLARI – TÜRKÇE KONU ANLATIMI

İngilizcede dört çeşit “pronoun” (zamir) bulunur.

There are four types of pronouns: Subject Pronouns, Object Pronouns, Possessive Pronouns and Demonstrative Pronouns.

Subject Pronouns – I, you, he, she, it, we, you, they function as the subject of a sentence:
(Özne (Şahıs) Zamirleri – Ben, Sen, O, Biz, Siz, Onlar cümlede özne işlemi görürler.)

I live in New York. (New York’ta yaşarım.)

Do you like playing tennis? (Tenis oynamayı sever misin?)

He doesn’t want to come this evening. (O bu akşam gelmek istemiyor.)

She works in London. (O Londra’da çalışır.)

It won’t be easy. (Kolay olmayacak.)

We are studying pronouns at the moment. (Biz şu an zamirlere çalışıyoruz.)

You went to Paris last year, didn’t you? (Sen geçen sene Paris’e gittin, değil mi?)

They bought a new car last month. (Onlar geçen ay yeni bir araba aldılar.)

Object Pronouns – me, you, him, her, it, us, you, them serve as the object of a verb.
(Nesne zamirleri – (Beni, bana), (Seni, sana), (Onu, ona),(Bizi, bize), (Sizi, Size), (Onları,onlara)

Give me the book. (Bana kitabı ver.)

He told you to come tonight. (O sana bu gece gelmeni söyledi.)

She asked him to help. (O ondan yardım istedi.)

They visited her when they came to New York. (Onlar New York’a geldiklerinde onu ziyaret ettiler.)

She bought it at the store. (O onu mağazada aldı.)

He picked us up at the airport. (O bizi hava alanından aldı.)

The teacher asked you to finish your homework. (Öğretmen sana ödevini bitirmeni söyledi.)

I invited them to a party. (Ben onları partiye çağırdım.)

Possessive Pronouns – mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, yours, theirs show that something belongs to someone. Note that the possessive pronouns are similar to possessive adjectives (my, his, her). The difference is that the object follows the possessive adjective but does not follow the possessive pronoun.
(Aidiyet zamirleri – benim, senin, onun, bizim, sizin, onların birşeyin kime ait olduğunu gösterir.)

For example – Possessive Pronoun: That book is mine.

– Possessive Adjective: That is my book.

That house is mine. (Şu ev benim.)

This is yours. (Bu senin.)

I’m sorry, that’s his. (Üzgünüm, bu onun.)

Those books are hers. (Bu kitaplar onun.)

Those students are ours. (Şu öğrenciler bizim.)

Look over there, those seats are yours. (Tam şuraya bak, şu koltuklar sizin.)

Theirs will be green. (Onlarınki yeşil olacak.)

Demonstrative Pronouns – this, that, these, those refer to things. ‘this’ and ‘these’ refer to something that is near. ‘that’ and ‘those’ refer to things that are farther away.
(İşaret Zamirleri – bu, şu, bunlar, şunlar “şey”leri işaret ederler. “This” (bu) ve “these” (bunlar) yakındaki şeyleri işaret eder. “That” (Şu) ve “Those” (Şunlar) daha uzaktaki şeyleri işaret eder.)

This is my house. (Bu benim evim.)

That is our car over there. (Şurdaki senin araban)

These are my colleagues in this room. (Bunlar benim bu odada iş arkadaşlarım.)

Those are beautiful flowers in the next field.

Possessive adjectives – my, your, his, her, its, our, your, their are often confused with possessive pronouns. The possessive adjective modifies the noun following it in order to show possession.
(İyelik sıfatları – benim, senin, onun, bizim, sizin, onların sıklıkla aidiyet zamirleri ile karıştırılırlar. İyelik sıfatları bir “ismi” (noun) niteleyerek aidiyet belirtir.)

I’ll get my books. (Kitaplarımı alacağım.)

Is that your car over there? (Şurdaki senin araban mı?)

That is his teacher, Mr Jones. (Şu onun öğrenmeni, Jones Bey.)

I want to go to her store. (Onun mağazasına gitmek istiyorum.)

Its color is red. (Onun rengi kırmızı.)

Can we bring our children? (Çocuklarımızı getirebilir miyiz?)

You are welcome to invite your husbands. (Kocalarınızı memnuniyetle davet edebilirsiniz.)

They bought their children a lot of presents. (Çocuklarına bir çok hediye almışlar.)
