“Such as” yada “like” örnekler sunmak için kullanılır.

We use such as or like to introduce examples.

eg. There are many different kinds of fruit trees in the orchard such as orange, apple and pear. (Örnek : Meyve bahçesinde portakal, elma ve armut gibi bir çok tür meyve ağacı bulunuyor.)

We use as + noun to say that someone has a particular job.(“As + isim” bir kişinin belirli bir işi olduğunu belirtmek için kullanırız.)

eg. He works as a shop assistant at David Jones. (Örnek : David Johnes’de tezgahtar olarak çalışıyor. )

We use as + noun to say what something is used for.(“As + isim” bir şeyin ne için kullanıldığını belirtmek için kullanırız.)

eg. I used my sarong as a beach towel.(Örnek : Ben peştemalimi plaj havlusu niyetine kullandım.)

We use like/as + clause to say that things happen in a similar way.(“Like/as + tümce” yi olayların benzer şekilde meydana geldiğini belirtmek için kullanırız.)

eg. He went to work this morning, like/as he usually does.(Örnek : Bu sabah işe gitti, genelde yaptığı/yapıyor olduğu gibi. )

We use like + noun or pronoun to say that something is similar to something else.(Like + isim veya zamiri, bir şeyin başka bir şeye benzediğini belirtmek için kullanırız.)

eg. The whole thing was like a nightmare.(Örnek : Tüm bu şey bir kabus gibiydi.)

We use so + adjective to give empahasis.(So + sıfatı vurguda bulunmak için kullanırız.)

eg. She looks so beautiful in that dress.(Örnek : O kıyafette çok güzel gözüküyor.)

We use such + adjective + noun to give emphasis.(Such + sıfat + isimi vurguda bulunmak için kullanırız.)

eg. We had such a great night.(Örnek : Öylesi muhteşem bir gece geçirdik ki.)

We use so + much/many + noun to give emphasis.(So + much/many + isimi vurguda bulunmak için kullanırız.)

eg. There is so much junk in the garage.(Örnek :Garajda o kadar çok çöp bulunuyor ki.)

Bill has so many boxes he wants to keep.(Bill’in vermek istemediği o kadar çok kutusu bulunuyor ki.)
